Home battery installation: what happens on the day
Checked by our MCS-certified installers · Updated October 2026
Short answer
One visit, usually one day.
We mount the battery, connect it to your inverter — or fit a new hybrid inverter — test it, and set up the app before we leave. Your power is off only for a short time while we connect.

Where the battery goes
Usually the garage, a utility room or an outside wall. It cannot go in a loft or on an escape route such as a hallway or under the stairs — we check your home against the rules at the survey. The full rules: where can a home battery go? →
Installation questions
Do I need to be home?
Someone needs to let us in and be there at the end, when we show you the app and the isolators.
How long will the power be off?
A short time while we connect the battery — we tell you before we switch off.
Is a home battery noisy?
Most are near-silent; you may hear a faint fan on a hot day. We keep it away from bedrooms where we can.
Can the battery go outside?
Many can, on an outside wall, when the model is rated for it. We tell you which at the survey.
Which batteries do you fit?
Fox ESS (EP6 and EP12), Sigenergy and Tesla Powerwall 3. Compare them →
