Heat pumps

How much does an air source heat pump cost?

We price it after a free survey. The unit is the small part: your heat loss, radiators, hot water cylinder and pipework set the cost, and a guess before seeing the house only comes back later as an extra.

Questions people ask about price

How much does a solar panel system cost for a 3-bedroom house?

Most three-bedroom homes take our Smart package — 10 all-black 470W panels with a 5.76 kWh Fox ESS battery — at £6,890 fully installed. Without the battery the same 10 panels are £4,990. Both prices are for one roof elevation with a single scaffold lift, and include that scaffolding, the MCS certificate, the DNO application and 0% VAT.

How much does a 10 kWh home battery cost in the UK?

Our 10 kWh-class battery is the Fox ESS EP12 at 11.52 kWh. Fully installed with a new hybrid inverter it is £4,290 – £4,890; added to a Fox ESS inverter you already have, it is £2,790 – £3,390. Both include the MCS certificate and 0% VAT. Your exact price is fixed after a free survey — it depends on where the battery goes, the cable run and your consumer unit.

What size solar system do I get for the price?

The Essential, Smart and Plus packages are each 10 all-black 470W panels — a 4.7 kWp system: £4,990 on its own, £6,890 or £7,990 with a battery. The Max package is 15 to 20 panels (7.05–9.4 kWp) with 23 kWh of storage at £13,400. How many panels fit is set by your roof, which the free roof design shows before you commit.

How much are solar panels, a battery and an EV charger together?

Each is priced on its own, so add them up: the Smart package (10 × 470W panels + 5.76 kWh Fox ESS EP6) is £6,890 for one roof elevation with a single scaffold lift, and a 7 kW charger is £1,150 – £1,340 installed. Done on the same visit, your written quote gives the one total before anything is booked.

Is a home battery worth it without solar panels?

Yes, if you can move your usage. A battery with a hybrid inverter fills overnight on a cheap tariff and runs the house through the day, so you buy electricity at the off-peak rate instead of the peak one. That system starts at £3,290 fully installed. Add panels later and they plug into the same inverter.

How much is a Tesla Powerwall 3 installed?

One Powerwall 3 with its inverter is £6,390 – £7,190 fully installed, and two Powerwalls are £11,090. If you already have a Powerwall, an extra unit is £4,990 – £5,390 installed. Your exact price is fixed after a free survey — it depends on where the battery goes, the cable run and your consumer unit.

How much does it cost to install a 7 kW EV charger at home?

From £1,150 fully installed for an untethered Fox ESS unit, up to £1,340 for a tethered Tesla Gen 3. That is the complete price: the charger, cabling, connection and electrical certification, on a standard install with up to 10 m of cable.

Why won't you give a heat pump price online?

Because the unit is the small part. What sets the cost is your heat loss figure, how many radiators need upsizing for lower flow temperatures, whether the hot water cylinder is replaced, and how much pipework can be reused. Anyone quoting before seeing the house is guessing, and the guess arrives later as an extra.

Do these prices include VAT and scaffolding?

Solar panels, batteries and heat pumps are zero-rated for VAT until 31 March 2027, and every solar and battery figure on this page already reflects that. EV chargers are not covered by the zero rate. Scaffolding on a one- to three-storey home is included in the solar packages.

What could make my price higher than the one shown?

Five things, and each is quoted in writing before you commit: panels on a second roof face, a consumer unit that needs replacing, a backup gateway for power cuts, cable runs beyond 10 m, and scaffold above three storeys. Nothing is ever added on the day of the install.
